John 3:16 (NKJV)
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Luke 2:10-11 (NKJV)
10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.
11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV)
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord , thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
The Meaning of Christmas That Changes Everything
Human love is limited and fickle. God’s love is unconditional and proactive.
Jesus left His glory and was born in a manger to save humanity.
The Meaning of His Emptying of Himself (Philippians 2:7)
- Jesus laid aside His divine rights.
- He humbled Himself for humanity, setting an example of a life of humility.
- Love is a decision to sacrifice.
Safety Has Been Planned by Him
“…and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21 NKJV)
His Plan Is Perfect!
- God has had a plan of salvation in place from the very beginning (Genesis 3:15)
- Jesus’ birth was no accident, but part of an eternal plan.
- Amid the chaos of humanity, God continues to work in perfect timing.
His Plan Is Specific!
“He will save His people”—meaning that Jesus comes to us personally and relationally.
Salvation is given to us: God wants each of us, His people, to know and acknowledge Jesus as our personal Savior.
God’s Plan That Seems Impossible
God has a simple way:
- A little baby
- A manger
- Shepherds
God’s plan may seem small at first, but it is always beautiful in the end.
True Story: The Uncelebrated Child
A poor child who was never celebrated.
One sentence on Christmas Eve changed his life: “Jesus was born for you, too.”
God’s love transformed a life that had been overlooked into one that God uses.
True Story: A Delay That Saved Lives
What we complain about as a delay is, in fact, God’s perfect timing.
One Christmas Eve, a soul was saved.
God’s plan is often hidden behind our complaints.
The Four Truths of Christmas
- God is never late
- God works through small things
- God is close to the brokenhearted
- God’s plans are always beautiful
When God Comes, Hope Comes
That manger was simple, but Jesus’ presence changed everything. When Jesus enters our lives:
- Darkness becomes light
- What is broken is restored
- The impossible becomes possible
A Christmas Invitation
“Lord, be born in my heart as well.”
If You can create beauty from a manger, You can also create beauty from my life.
Conclusion
- His love reaches out
- His hope endures
- His plan is beautiful
- Because of Christmas, our lives will never be the same.
